This event starts with 30 minutes of skill drills followed by a casual 2-mile skate along Pennsylvania Avenue from Freedom Plaza to the U.S. Capitol and back, designed for those comfortable skating in controlled environments who want to build stamina and prepare for longer city routes. Participants must wear helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads, and knee pads, and children under 18 need adult supervision. Various wheeled devices including inline skates, roller skates, bicycles, unicycles, skateboards, and longboards are welcome.
